Because critics often refer to the Lincoln-Douglas debates when reproaching presidential debates, comparisons of the two are discussed throughout the book. Much of the data and information for this accounting of televised presidential debates comes from the author's first-hand experience as one who was involved with these debates as a participant observer, on site at nearly all of the debates discussed.

Throughout these discussions, emphasis is placed on the implications for public policy. To suggest policy that will be accepted and adopted by politicians and the public is, at best, difficult. Proposals for changes in public policy based on experience -- even when scientific data support those changes -- must be subjected to an assessment of the values and predispositions of the proponent. These values and predispositions, however, may not necessarily inhibit the proponent's objectivity. As such, this review of television use in the presidential election process provides the context for examining televised debates.

a break in time

I gave quantum break zero state a novel four stars because first off if you haven't played the game stop reading my review and go play it right now I love the quantum break video game it was breathtaking beautiful the cross between live action cut scenes and the storyline alone was well done in my opinion but sadly my only fault with it is the whole time line of events just seemed awfully hard to follow I just found myself lost at key points in the novel it was like once I understood what was going on I got lost at the next point and I know the whole time line past present future is hard to explain and I don't blame the writer for it but with the way its written I have to fault a star because time travel writing is difficult and I don't think anyone can make it understandable overall I recommend this book to anyone who played the game and anyone who likes time traveling world ending action

La diversidad de variantes dialectales del espa�ol en Estados Unidos inmersas en un ambiente anglohablante crea una situaci�n socioling��stica propicia para confusiones, interferencias e influencias en el uso del castellano. Ante esta situaci�n, adem�s de estudios cient�ficos de la lengua cuya utilidad es mediata, se requiere de una herramienta pr�ctica accesible a todos los hablantes, que oriente y encauce la comunicaci�n en espa�ol.
La sola existencia de ambos tomos de Hablando bien se entiende la gente es un est�mulo para el cultivo de la lengua, y con humor �por qu� no? Freud ayuda a tener un concepto de humor que permite comprender que, en estos libros, no es burla, mucho menos para los latinos; por el contrario, resulta un camino expedito, alegre y familiar hacia el mejor hablar evitando teor�as y terminolog�as infranqueables para la mayor�a de los hablantes; esta familiaridad con los lectores garantiza su utilidad masiva. Por eso que ya recibe el reconocimiento de aquellas personas a quienes est�n dirigidos.

There are some interesting observations, but I didn't like it as well as the first edition. I got the impression that the compilers must have said,"Ah, let's find a few more expressions and publish another book. Maybe it'll sell." It's useful and interesting, but it could have been much better.
